Description
A dozen papers from meetings of the European Association of University Teachers in Bangor in September 1991 and Siena in September 1992, address the main issues facing banking and other financial systems in competition, organization and strategy, regulation and crisis, and securities markets and financial centers. Those papers that deal with systems of a particular country are concerned with issues faced in other countries as well. Particularly in Scandinavia due to recent and rapid deregulation, but throughout the continent generally, the industry has seen intensifying competition, narrowing margins, falling profits, and new capital adequacy requirements.
