Territory and State Power in Latin America: The Peruvian Case (Latin American Studies Series)

This study examines the central spatial tendencies of capitalist development and state-society relations in Peru for the 1919-1984 period. Although the study focuses on the Peruvian experience, a consideration of the effects of the changing internationalization of capital provides an important global dimension. Theoretical elements for an understanding of the interconnections among the spatial unevenness of capitalist development, the spatial effects of state interventionism and the regional dimensions of political power and social conflict are introduced and explored. The author also wrote "Underdevelopment and Spatial Inequality" and "Capitalismo y Desarrollo Regional".
