Description
The proceedings of a May 1991 workshop in Hamilton, Ontario. The 35 papers reflect the expansion of the interest in how atoms behave in laser fields to include molecules, and suggest that advancing laser technology is pushing toward the frontier of nonlinear photochemistry and photophysics, so that new nonlinear phenomena are being studied. The topics include the inhibition of atomic ionization in strong laser fields, the intense field dynamics of diatomic molecules, chirp-controlled interference in two-photon processes, and the optimal control of molecular motion.
