This volume is a record of the first Eurographics Workshop on Multimedia, held in Stockholm in April 1991. The discussions and presentations dealt with attempts to clarify the different concepts in multimedia, object-oriented methods for multimedia, multimedia from psychological perspectives, synchronization problems in multimedia, cooperative work using multimedia, multimedia interface builders, and so on. There was also a small exhibition presenting four different systems ranging from commercial products to research prototypes. The book is divided into eight parts, on fundamentals, interaction, synchronization, demonstration presentations, cooperative work, information systems, systems, and conclusions.
